About this place
Gathering around a simmering hot pot, dipping thinly cut meats and crisp vegetables into fragrant broth, and finishing them in custom sauces is the core appeal of shabu-shabu. Situated on the 2th floor of LaLa terrace Kawaguchi, Shabu yo presents an expansive all-you-can-eat format where diners can tailor their broth, proteins, and dipping combinations freely.
The foundational broth is a mellow bonito "Basic Shiro Dashi," which can be seasoned at the table with various condiments. Diners can also select contrasting companion broths, such as "Yuzu Salt Dashi" balancing bonito and kelp with bright citrus, "Authentic Sukiyaki Dashi" with sweet soy sauce and raw egg, or the numbing, spicy "Kuro-hachimi Mala Dashi" flavored with 8 aromatic spices.
Course options run from budget-conscious pork belly or combination beef and pork selections up to premium choices like the "Domestic Beef All-You-Can-Eat Course" and the "Beef Tongue & Domestic Beef All-You-Can-Eat Course." Dipping the thin slices into hot broth and wrapping them around crunchy shredded vegetables keeps the meal light. Guests can also visit the condiment station to blend sesame oil and salt into the dashi, or add Chinese noodles to create a personalized closing soup.
For dessert, a self-service sweets bar allows diners to fold their own crepes and finish them with a choice of toppings. Because the restaurant often gets busy during peak lunch and dinner hours, reserving a table ahead of time helps ensure a relaxed meal.
